Mardi Gras Selections
As March "roars" in this week, we'd like to warm up your calendar! As you don your Mardi Gras purple & gold, we've listed below some wine and beer selections to pair with your Cajun dishes.
- Alderbrook Chardonnay 1998 CA $8.99
This Chardonnay is full-flavored and concentrated, without being overly oaked in style. A good wine, from a good year, that is worth a great deal more than its reasonable price. A real steal.
- Salmon Run Riesling New York 1999 $9.99
A dry style Riesling coming from the famed Dr. Frank of the Finger Lakes region of New York State. This makes a refreshing foil for hot and spicy dishes.
- Unionville Vineyards Fields of Fire 1999 $5.99
This blend of the Native American grape varieties, Cayuga and Chambourcin, comes from our neighbors to the west at Unionville Vineyards. The end result is a semi-sweet blush wine that is a good picnic or barbecue quaff. A great wine for et Touffe.
- Bonny Doon "Big House Red" 1999 $9.99
Randal Graham at Bonny Doon has long been known for doing things in his own individualistic way and often with a dose of tongue-in-cheek irreverence. This wine is a Pan-Mediterranean blend of grapes too numerous to mention. The result is a red wine of likeable character and affordable price.
- Domaine du Pavilion Cote Roannaise 1998 $7.99
Crafted from the same grape used to fashion Beaujolais, this tasty gem is light and fruity and eminently flexible in its application to food. A favorable choice for Chinese or Thai cooking, picnic style items, or even for popcorn and a movie
